Hi my name is Taras, I’m a PhD researcher at KTH.
I have been in Toastmasters for one and a half years so far and I have been in the board for a year already and I am the one making Toastmasters meetings possible. Toastmaster is a public speaking club where people gather to practice their public speaking skills by providing speeches and getting their feedback
Before I know GetSandwich, I used to collect my feedbacks on paper and then I would use some sort of spreadsheets to put all the feedback I had and and somehow evaluated systematically and see what I need to work on and it would take me quite some time.
It just takes time at the beginning to get used to the ratings and to dare to give these ratings [to other people], I would feel “Oh, who am I to to rate someone else?” but it just took some time to get used to that.
Now we use GetSandwich as a default platform for feedback and the Loki Toastmasters and Stockholm International Toastmasters. The way it works is the following: After a speech is over, everybody has time up to two minutes to login to the GetSandwich link provided by the organizers and type in what they thought about the speech and give feedback on a specific categories such as vocal variety, body language, interesting content and so on.
GetSandwich is all about making feedback easy and efficient. Now I spent so much less time on working on collecting feedback and it’s much more convenient.
GetSandwich is very customisable and very adjustable. Whenever we need a specific change it’s always easy to get.
Whenever I talk about GetSandwich I do it because I want to share it with others as a tool to make their feedback faster and more useful. It provides people much more value than just having it on a paper and it saves a lot of time.
